Description

Lewa Wildlife Conservancy is a private, non-profit conservancy of about 62,000 acres in northern Kenya, lying between the foothills of Mount Kenya and the Samburu plains in Meru and Isiolo counties. Together with Mount Kenya it forms part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Lewa is best known for protecting black and white rhinos, and it is also home to Grevy's zebra, elephants, lions, giraffes and many bird species. Beyond wildlife protection, it supports neighbouring communities through schools, health care, water projects and jobs, and it hosts the annual Lewa Safari Marathon.

Visitors stay at lodges and camps inside the conservancy, where game drives, walking safaris and horse riding are offered. Visiting, donating and conservation news are on the official website.
