KTDA Holdings – Tea Company in Nairobi

KTDA Holdings is the management company behind Kenya's smallholder tea sector. It is a private company owned by about 600,000 small-scale tea farmers spread across 16 tea-growing counties, who are shareholders in 54 tea factory companies that in turn own KTDA Holdings.

Several of those factory companies have added satellite factories to handle extra green leaf, bringing the total to 71 tea factories owned by smallholder farmers. KTDA manages these factories and the wider value chain, from collecting and processing leaf to marketing made tea in Kenya and abroad.

Nine subsidiary companies support that work, among them Chai Trading Company, KTDA Management Services, the KTDA Foundation, Tea Machinery and Engineering Company, KTDA Power and the Chai Logistics Centre.
