Description
Kenya Nut Company is one of the country's best-known agricultural businesses. It was set up in 1974 in the Kenyan highlands as Kenya's first macadamia processing company, growing and processing macadamia and cashew nuts, and has since moved into coffee, chocolate, oils, tea, honey, wine and beef.
The company employs more than 1,200 people and runs seven farms on over 8,000 acres, with a complete chain from seedlings to packed products sold across Kenya and in more than 50 export markets. Processing is done in a HACCP-certified environment.
Its four brands are household names. Out of Africa covers nuts, coffee, tea and chocolate, Nutfields offers salted and unsalted cashew, macadamia and mixed nuts, Leleshwa makes wines and spirits, and Morendat produces beef. Visitors can also book macadamia farm tours and Leleshwa wine tours.
The office is open Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm and Saturday 9am to 1pm. Products, tours and enquiries are on the Kenya Nut Company website.
