Job Title: Business Development Officer – Log Book Loans

Our client, a non-deposit-taking Micro-credit Institution, is currently seeking to recruit a Business Development Officer. The selected candidate will be responsible for driving business growth by facilitating loan processing and disbursement for log book loans. Additionally, they will identify opportunities for expanding the company's market share, develop effective marketing strategies, ensure timely loan collection, and maintain a healthy loan portfolio.
Responsibilities:
Market logbook loans to prospective customers.
Evaluate clients, process loan disbursements, and ensure prompt collections.
Follow up with defaulters and manage collection arrears.
Achieve continuous growth in customer numbers while adhering to customer onboarding policies and procedures.
Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities.
Foster client retention through exceptional customer service.
Assess clients' businesses to determine the appropriate loan amount through thorough appraisal.
Maintain accurate and clear client records, and verify and assess chattels offered as collateral in collaboration with the Branch Manager.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with customers.
Deliver excellent customer service to ensure client retention. Qualifications:
Minimum grade of C+ in KCSE.
Degree/diploma in a relevant business field, with additional support courses preferably in business, finance, accounting, and banking.
Over 3 years of experience in sales of logbook loans within a financial institution.
Knowledge of sales and marketing, credit risk management, lending, and relevant experience in the banking sector.
Proficiency in computer skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong analytical skills to interpret financial statements.
Team player with a proactive attitude towards improving performance and persuasive communication skills.
