Requirements:
Diploma in clearing and freight forwarding.
EACFFPC Training certificate from KESRA.
Tradex training.
ICMS training.
Kentrade training/TFB.
5-10 years of experience in the field, specializing in declaration for all CPC codes.
Experience in bonds cancellation.
Familiarity with shipping line processing.
Results-oriented with strong teamwork and cooperation skills.
Employment Duties:
a) Process all shipping/clearing documents through customs and port authorities when necessary.
b) Handle customs declaration and documentation for all imports/exports in ICMS/Simba.
c) Prepare import declaration forms (IDF) online in ICMS.
d) Prepare C26 for bond cancellations and follow up on the cancellations.
e) Follow up on rebates, customs drawbacks, and other refunds related to imports and exports.
f) Track container deposits from shipping lines.
g) Prepare export statutory documents such as EUR1, EAC, and COMESA.
h) Track cargo online for both import and export shipments.
i) Advise clients on correct tariff codes, import/export procedures, and requirements.
j) Market company services through excellent customer care and public relations.
k) Advise the accounts department on shipping line charges, make necessary payments, and prepare container-related documents.
l) Address any customs issues that may arise.
m) Follow up on shipping for both exports and imports to ensure timely clearance and promptly resolve any issues.
n) Follow up on any files lacking proper documents to expedite the clearing process.
o) Maintain proper filing records, including demurrage invoices and payment receipts.
p) Ensure all files are correctly filed with all supporting documents.
q) Handle client invoicing using our Pastel package.
r) Process all shipping/clearing documents through customs and port authorities when necessary.
s) Perform any other duties assigned by management.
