The primary objective of this job is to handle transportation duties efficiently by delivering staff and packages to and from designated locations in a timely and safe manner. Additionally, this position is responsible for coordinating transportation for any Club events.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The role of a driver entails several responsibilities. Firstly, the driver must ensure that the vehicle is in excellent condition and maintained as per policy. Secondly, the driver must transport staff and/or packages to and from destinations as required. Thirdly, the driver must organize vehicle repairs and servicing, both internally and externally as needed. Fourthly, the driver must plan cost-effective routes to ensure efficiency and cost management. Fifthly, the driver must maintain mileage records and keep repair records up to date. Finally, the driver must ensure the safety of guests or staff on board by observing all safety precautions and complying with traffic/road rules and regulations while also following policies in place.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To qualify for this role, the candidate must possess at least a KCSE Certificate, a Defensive Driving Certificate, and a valid Driver's License. The candidate should have good experience and knowledge of the local routes and basic motor vehicle mechanical diagnostic skills. The candidate must be a good planner and communicator and possess first aid administration skills. The candidate must also have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to multitask, and records management skills. Finally, the candidate must have a high level of ethics and integrity and a minimum of three years' experience as a BCE driver in a busy establishment.
