Reporting to the Board of Directors, the General Manager will be responsible for driving the strategic direction of the company and ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of their services.
The key responsibilities of the General Manager include developing and implementing strategies to achieve the company's financial and operational objectives. They will also monitor industry trends, market conditions, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities. Managing and leading a team of supervisors, drivers, and administrative staff to ensure the highest levels of performance, customer service, and employee engagement is another critical responsibility. Additionally, they will develop and maintain relationships with key customers, vendors, and partners to enhance their service offerings and improve operational efficiency.
The General Manager will monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and areas for cost optimization. They will oversee the development and implementation of standard operating procedures, safety protocols, and quality control measures. To qualify for this role, candidates should have a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. They should have at least 5 or more years of experience in logistics, transportation, or a related industry, with a proven track record of success in a leadership role. Strong strategic planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills are essential. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills are also required. Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams, including coaching and developing staff, is a must. Knowledge of industry regulations, safety standards, and best practices is highly preferred, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics management software is required.
