This job description outlines the duties and requirements for the position of an Information Communication Technology (ICT) Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for various tasks, including installation and maintenance of computer systems, configuration of Local Area Network and Wide Area Network, and developing and updating application systems. They will also carry out system analysis, design, and programme specifications in liaison with users and oversee the process of configuration of new ICT equipment.
In addition to these responsibilities, the ICT Officer will be required to carry out repairs and maintenance of Information Communication Technology equipment and associated peripherals. They will also draw up hardware specification for ICT equipment and be responsible for the verification, validation, and certification of ICT equipment.
To be considered for this position, the candidate must have served in the position of Information Communication Technology Officer II or in a comparable and relevant position in the Public Service for a minimum period of three (3) years. Additionally, they must hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/ Information Communication Technology or in Electronics/ Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution. Finally, the candidate must have shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
