The County Assemblies Forum (CAF) is looking for a Programs Assistant to join their team. As the coordinating body of the 47 County Assemblies in the Republic of Kenya, CAF's main responsibility is to promote networking and synergy amongst the 47 Assemblies. The Assistant will be responsible for providing support in Project Management, Liaison, and Protocol/Networking, Institutional, organizing, promoting, and implementing effective programmatic initiatives.
The Assistant's main duties and responsibilities will include planning and designing programs, proactively monitoring and evaluating their progress, improving networking contacts with external parties through meetings, and disseminating timely information. Additionally, the Assistant will be responsible for ensuring effective quality assurance and the overall integrity of the program, focusing inwardly on the internal consistency of the program, and outwardly on its coherence with infrastructure planning, interfaces with other programs, and corporate, technical, and specialist standards.
The Assistant will be responsible for developing project plans, including implementation plans, work plans, and schedules related to CAF, monitoring expenditure and costs against delivered and realized benefits as the program progresses, and ensuring the delivery of new products or services from projects to the appropriate level of quality, on time and within budget, in accordance with the program plan and program governance arrangements. The Assistant will also be required to formulate, organize, and monitor inter-connected projects, coordinate cross-project activities, develop and control deadlines, budgets, and activities.
To be considered for this position, an applicant must be a Kenyan citizen, have a degree in social science from a recognized institution, and at least 2 years of working experience. The position is on a one-year contract, renewable subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funds. The location of service is at CAF Offices in Nairobi City County with periodic travel to the other counties. The Programs Assistant will earn a monthly salary and any other allowances as may be approved by the Forum from time to time.
