The Sales Associate is responsible for achieving and exceeding sales targets by meeting individual and store-wide goals. They are expected to upsell products and services to customers to increase sales and revenue. The Sales Associate is also responsible for keeping track of inventory levels and communicating with management to ensure that the store always has the appropriate amount of stock on hand.
Moreover, the Sales Associate should greet customers as they enter the store and assist them with their needs, providing excellent customer service, and answering any questions customers may have about products or services. They should maintain a clean and organized store environment, including restocking merchandise and keeping display areas neat and tidy. The Sales Associate should stay up-to-date on product knowledge to help customers make informed purchase decisions and participate in training programs and attend team meetings to stay informed about new products, services, and sales strategies.
The Sales Associate should also follow all store policies and procedures, including security protocols. They should create attractive displays that highlight new products and promotions and assist with receiving and unpacking merchandise shipments as needed. Finally, the Sales Associate should perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
To qualify for this position, the applicant should have a Diploma in Sales and Marketing or an equivalent qualification. Previous five years of retail sales experience is preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment are essential. The applicant should also have the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Basic math and inventory management skills are required, along with knowledge of point-of-sale systems and inventory management systems. Finally, the applicant should have the ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 20kg.
