We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to oversee all aspects of our courier company's operations. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the General Manager will be responsible for driving the strategic direction of the company and ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of our services.
The General Manager will have a diverse range of responsibilities, including developing and implementing strategies to achieve the company's financial and operational objectives, monitoring industry trends, market conditions, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities, and managing and leading a team of supervisors, drivers, and administrative staff to ensure the highest levels of performance, customer service, and employee engagement.
Other responsibilities include developing and maintaining relationships with key customers, vendors, and partners to enhance our service offerings and improve operational efficiency, monitoring and analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and areas for cost optimization, and overseeing the development and implementation of standard operating procedures, safety protocols, and quality control measures.
The General Manager will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, and company policies, developing and managing budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to support the company's financial performance and growth, and representing the company at industry events, conferences, and other relevant forums.
Qualifications for the position include a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, at least 5 or more years of experience in logistics, transportation, or a related industry, with a proven track record of success in a leadership role, strong strategic planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills, excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams, including coaching and developing staff, knowledge of industry regulations, safety standards, and best practices, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics management software.
