The job opening is for a Human Resources Coordinator who will be responsible for managing all HR-related matters for the company. The successful candidate will be located at the Eastern Bypass and report to the Deputy Director. This is a full-time position.
The HR Coordinator will be expected to create and execute HR initiatives and strategies that align with the overall business plan. They will also be responsible for handling employee requests, grievances, and other related issues to improve relations between management and employees. The onboarding and offboarding processes will also be under their control.
Moreover, the HR Coordinator will be tasked with growing, inspiring, and retaining the human capital to meet present and future company demands. They will be responsible for creating and monitoring HR strategies, tactics, methods, and procedures, cultivating a supportive workplace, and maintaining a setup that promotes optimum performance.
Other responsibilities include maintaining the benefits and pay schedule, analyzing staff training requirements, using HR indicators to assist in decision-making, ensuring legal compliance, determining suitable salaries and remuneration, providing support systems for payroll requirements, developing adequate induction and training, managing succession planning of staff, and assisting with the performance management and review process.
The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, with a minimum of four years of experience in human resource management, including two years at the supervisory level. They should also have a good understanding and knowledge of the Employment Act-2007 and other Kenyan Labor Laws, experience in working well within diverse teams, and significant exposure to working in a start-up environment.
Other essential skills and expertise include the ability to develop key strategy/documentation that aligns with human resource regulations, prioritize, multitask, and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced, changing environment, as well as excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, and analytical and problem-solving skills. The candidate should also have the ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality, and thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
Fluency in English and Kiswahili is a must, and proficiency in French is an added advantage.
