As a UX/UI Lead, the candidate will be responsible for leading the UX/UI designs across all platforms and channels. They will manage and direct other junior UX/UI members on the team and establish best practices for UX development as well as implementation with SW engineering. The candidate will create and manage design assets for engineering and the UX team, and design and implement market research activities such as focus groups and surveys.
The ideal candidate should be proficient in various visual communication methods such as sketches, digital illustrations, Figma, Adobe XD, Illustrator, etc. They will create and present visual concepts for new and innovative electric cooking products and create user flows and wireframes. The candidate will design and prototype concepts using low fidelity paper and digital methods and work closely with software engineers to implement designs.
Moreover, the candidate should create clear technical documentation of requirements and follow human-centered design practices when developing designs. They should ensure all designs are consistent with Burn's style and branding strategy and provide inputs and initiate research activities to resolve and support design decisions. They will also contribute to creating related digital products to ensure a consistent user experience across products and communicate with respective stakeholders such as hardware and software about the project and their tasks therein.
Lastly, the candidate will test concepts and prototypes in the lab and field. The ideal candidate should have a BFA or BA in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Product Design, or similar fields, and at least 3 years of demonstrated work experience in a relevant consumer product field designing products. They should be proficient in Figma or Adobe XD, Adobe CC (mostly Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign), and core MS Office products. Solid sketching and rapid visual communication skills are also necessary, as well as a portfolio of current work. Experience in physical product design and engineering is a plus, as is graphic design for products and experience with eCommerce and Pay Go. The candidate should be self-managed and motivated.
