Job Description/Requirements: Position Summary: Our Client, the largest distributor of Educational, Cultural, and Technological Content and Products in East and Central Africa, has become the leading bookstore chain in Kenya and the region. They are seeking a candidate to ensure accurate and efficient management of stocks within their multi-location business model, implementing stock control procedures to safeguard company assets.
Job Purpose: The primary responsibility of this position is to manage stocks effectively and ensure adherence to stock control procedures, playing a crucial role in inventory management within the company.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement the company's inventory management strategy, continuously improving inventory control processes and establishing accurate policies and procedures.
Act as the custodian of stock records and balances, maintaining and managing the company's inventory, including stock profiles and locations.
Collaborate closely with planning, purchasing, and warehouse teams to ensure smooth inventory flow.
Coordinate with the warehouse team to establish a control system, minimizing inventory obsolescence, mistakes, inaccuracies, and discrepancies.
Conduct regular physical verifications, reconciliations, and monitoring of stock activity, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the stock management system.
Reconcile stock deliveries with purchase orders and invoices.
Manage and oversee monthly and annual stock counts across warehouses and retail stores.
Identify root causes of count variances and work collaboratively with other departments to resolve issues and prevent future occurrences.
Analyze count variances, develop plans for rectification, and facilitate their implementation.
Ensure accurate and timely reporting by entering and updating stock data correctly.
Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc inventory levels and consumption reports to relevant stakeholders. Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, or a related business field.
Relevant professional qualification (CPA / ACCA or equivalent).
5+ years of experience in stock control, preferably in a retail environment. Key Competencies:
