Description

Sarara Camp is a safari ecolodge in the Namunyak Conservancy in Samburu, northern Kenya, at the foot of the Mathews Range. Sarara describes itself as a community conservation and ecotourism destination driven by the Indigenous Samburu people, and stays at its lodges help support conservation and local livelihoods.

The camp offers access to abundant wildlife and age-old Samburu culture in one of Africa's last true wilderness areas. Sarara also runs Sarara Treehouses, Reteti House and the mobile Sarara Wilderness camp, each in a distinct setting in Northern Kenya, so guests can combine several properties in one trip.

The conservancy is home to the Reteti Elephant Sanctuary, Africa's first community-owned elephant sanctuary, which rescues and rehabilitates orphaned elephants. The Sarara Foundation supports nomadic healthcare and education programmes and a milk-to-market initiative.

Activities, itineraries and bookings are on the Sarara website.
