Description
Dr. Ken Gerdes Mixed Senior School is a Christian mixed day and boarding senior school on the Kitale–Webuye Road, next to Sista Freda’s Medical Centre, about 13 km from Kitale town in Trans-Nzoia County.
The idea began in 2009 with a wish to give girls from slums and villages a quality education. Dr. Ken Gerdes, an American physician on a medical mission, pledged support in 2010, and the school opened in early 2011. He later sponsored classrooms, a swimming pool and a science laboratory. Originally a girls’ boarding school, it now admits boys and girls and has more than 200 students.
The school follows the national curriculum and presents candidates for national exams, with labs, a library, ICT and sports facilities. Its motto is "Per Ardua Ad Astra", with the eagle on its crest.
The office is open Monday to Friday 7 am to 5 pm and Saturday 8 am to 1 pm. Call +254 722 580 825 or +254 700 418 129, or email drkengerdesseniorschool@gmail.com. Admissions details are on the school website.
