Description
Amaica is a Nairobi restaurant dedicated to authentic African cuisine, and one of the few formal dining rooms in the city built around traditional dishes from across the continent. Its menu showcases rare indigenous foods such as wild mushrooms, bambara nuts, groundnuts, tsiswa (white ants) and all seven of Kenya's indigenous kienyeji vegetables.
The main branch sits in Getathuru Gardens, off Peponi Road in Westlands, about a kilometre from Westgate Shopping Mall. Set in a leafy suburb against the backdrop of Karura Forest, it is a calm spot for corporate lunches, family meals and gatherings with friends. Amaica also runs outlets in the international departures lounge at JKIA and within the UN complex in Gigiri.
The restaurant presents its food as a cultural journey, celebrating the traditions of Kenyan communities through its dishes and storytelling.
Reservations: 0716 687 248 or info@amaica.co.ke. The Peponi branch is open daily. See the menu on the Amaica website.
