Description
The Aquaculture Business Development Programme (ABDP) is a groundbreaking initiative that is jointly funded by the Government of Kenya and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). The aim of the programme is to promote the development of sustainable aquaculture in 15 counties in Kenya that have high potential for this industry. Through the ABDP, local farmers are empowered with the knowledge, skills, and resources they need to build profitable aquaculture businesses that benefit both the local economy and the environment. The programme provides technical assistance, training, and access to financing to help farmers increase their productivity, improve the quality of their products, and expand their markets. By promoting sustainable and responsible aquaculture practices, the ABDP is making a significant contribution to food security, poverty reduction, and economic growth in Kenya.
