Daystar University

Daystar University is a Christ-centred, non-denominational private university with its main campus at Athi River in Machakos County and a second campus in Nairobi. Its mission is to equip Christian servant leaders for the transformation of church and society.

The institution traces its roots to Daystar Publications, founded in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, in 1964. It moved to Kenya in 1971, began diploma and master's programmes in Christian communication in the 1970s and launched its first bachelor's degree in 1984 as Daystar University College. It received a government charter in 1994. Today Daystar enrols more than 8,000 students, including over 500 international students from more than 30 countries.

Programmes run from certificates and diplomas to bachelor's, master's and PhD degrees across its schools, with online learning options and professional short courses. Daystar is especially known for communication and media studies. For admissions and fees, visit the Daystar University website.
