Description
Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) is the state agency responsible for conserving and managing Kenya's wildlife and its habitats. Its headquarters are on Langata Road in Nairobi, and it manages national parks and reserves across the country, from the snow-capped peaks of Mount Kenya and the plains of Tsavo to Lake Nakuru and the marine parks of the coast.
For visitors, KWS handles park conservation fees, paid through its KWSPay platform, takes bookings for Mbugani Homes accommodation inside the parks, and promotes experiences such as wildlife safaris, birdwatching, adventure, night tours and marine excursions. It also runs the Kifaru Ark shop.
Behind the scenes its teams handle wildlife security and anti-poaching, protected area management, conservation science, veterinary services, community relations and conservation education, supported by an Airwing at Wilson Airport and a law enforcement training centre at Manyani. Plan a park visit or contact the service through the Kenya Wildlife Service website.
