Kerio View Lodge – Lodge in Iten

Kerio View Lodge sits right on the lip of the Elgeyo Marakwet escarpment, just outside Iten, the highland town famous worldwide as a training base for distance runners. From here the land drops away into the Kerio Valley, and the changing light over the valley is the lodge's main attraction, especially at sunrise breakfast.

Much of the main building is made from timber and natural stone. The restaurant spreads over two levels, with the upper deck giving the widest views, and guests can relax at the bar or in the many seating spots around the gardens. Accommodation is in rooms and bandas, all with Wi-Fi and tea and coffee facilities.

The lodge welcomes runners and training camps, conferences, groups and barbecue gatherings, and paragliding off the escarpment is a popular local activity. It is about 45 minutes' drive from Eldoret along the escarpment road. Rooms, prices and enquiries are on the Kerio View Lodge website.
