Description
Kiriri Women's University of Science and Technology (KWUST) is a private university at Mwihoko, on the northern edge of Nairobi. Established in 2002, it holds the distinction of being the first women-only university in East and Southern Africa, founded to help close the gender gap in higher education, particularly in science and technology.
The university's message is about empowerment: making students stronger, more confident and ready to lead. It says that all incoming students receive a scholarship or grant, and its admissions team works with families on financing options.
KWUST runs undergraduate and diploma programmes through its schools and departments, with student life built around a student council, sports and clubs, and guidance and counselling. Hospitality, business, science and technology courses are among the options listed on the academic pages.
Admissions: 0789 626 819. Reception: 020 204 2692. Email: info@kwust.ac.ke. Offices are open Monday to Friday, 8.30 am to 6.30 pm. Programmes are on the KWUST website.
