Description
Kisii School, also known as Kisii High School, is a public national secondary school for boys located about one and a half kilometres from Kisii town centre on the Kisii-Keroka road. It is a full boarding school, and the gate sits right beside the main road, so it is easy to reach by matatu or car.
The school began in 1934 as a Government African School funded by the local native council, later added secondary and A-level classes, and was elevated to national school status in 2012. Today it has seven streams with roughly 1,500 students, many of them from outside Kisii County, taught by a large team of TSC and board-employed teachers.
Students follow a broad curriculum of more than 20 subjects and take part in science and engineering fairs, music, drama and a wide range of sports, including rugby, hockey, handball, basketball and football. KCSE results, admissions information and news are published on the Kisii School website.
