Description
Singorwet Young Professionals (SYPA) is a non-profit organization formed by university students from Singorwet location in Bomet district. It mainly focuses on giving back to the community while aiming to strengthen the level of education standards in the area. SYPA was formed in December 2008 with Benard Bett as its founding Chairman and Mr. Wilson Koech as its patron. At the time, the location had a lot of challenges both educationally and developmentally. It was decided that the area university students being the eyes and ears of the community were best placed to assist it in terms of developing projects to help the community. It also aims to improve education standards by organizing tuition and mentorship programs for students both in primary and secondary schools. There has been a lot achieved by the organization in its two years of existence. It has been duly registered by the ministry of Gender, culture, and sports.
