Description

South Eastern Kenya University (SEKU) is a public university with its main campus near Kwa Vonza in Kitui County, in the semi-arid south-eastern part of the country. It grew out of a constituent college of the University of Nairobi and was chartered as a full university in 2013, with a mission linked to the development of dryland communities.

The university offers certificate, diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across schools of agriculture and veterinary sciences, environment and natural resources, engineering and technology, education, business and economics, pure and applied sciences, and health sciences. Research on water, drought resilience and dryland farming is a particular focus. Besides the main campus, SEKU runs a Kitui town campus, a Mtito Andei campus and a TVET centre at Migwani.

Admission is through KUCCPS for government-sponsored students and directly for self-sponsored learners. Programmes, news and contacts are on the SEKU website.
