Tin Roof Café Karen is a garden café at The House of Treasures on Dagoretti Road in Karen, Nairobi. It sits in its own leafy enclave away from the malls, and the décor has a relaxed farmhouse feel, with patterned cushions and milk-bucket lampshades.

The menu leans healthy: superfood salads, fresh wraps and sandwiches, smoothies and juicy burgers, plus breakfasts such as smashed avocado with poached eggs. Coffee is locally grown and roasted.

Families are welcome, with high chairs, sugar-free and salt-free children’s food and play areas, and dogs on leads can join you in the garden. Parking is free and secure. The café is cashless, taking cards and M-Pesa, and delivers within about 5 km. A sister branch operates at Langata Link.
