Bandari Maritime Academy – Maritime College in Mombasa

Bandari Maritime Academy (BMA) is a maritime education and training institution on the oceanfront in Mombasa, Kenya's main port city. It describes itself as a regional centre of excellence for maritime skills, preparing seafarers, port staff and future industry leaders for jobs in the growing Blue Economy.

Training is organised in five schools. The School of Nautical Science combines classroom theory with simulators and onboard experience, while the School of Marine Engineering covers marine propulsion and auxiliary machinery. The School of Maritime Transport Operations focuses on safe and efficient shipping and port management, and the School of Port Operation Equipment trains operators of cranes, forklifts, terminal tractors, reach stackers and other port machinery. A School of STCW and Ancillary Training delivers the safety and certification courses seafarers need.

BMA offers Level V and Level VI programmes, STCW and short courses, with an admissions office and online applications. Offices open Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. Courses, fees and admissions are on the Bandari Maritime Academy website.
