Bomu Hospital – Hospital in Mombasa

Bomu Hospital is a not-for-profit hospital in Mombasa, run as a social enterprise to offer affordable care to families on the coast. It began in the late 1970s as a small outpatient facility in Mkomani and has since grown into a full hospital with seven branches, including medical centres in Mariakani, Timboni, Alwalidayn and Bombolulu.

The main hospital provides outpatient care with a range of specialist clinics, among them ENT, hypertension, diabetes, paediatric, surgical and gynaecology clinics. It also offers antenatal care, mother and child health and family planning, inpatient wards, radiology, a laboratory and an ambulance service.

Bomu is also known for its community health programmes, including long-running HIV, TB and prevention of mother-to-child transmission services.
