Description

Kizingo Eco Lodge is a secluded eco lodge on the southern tip of Lamu Island, on Kenya's north coast. Eight artisan bandas are set among the sand dunes, fronting a long and quiet stretch of Indian Ocean beach well away from the busier parts of the island.

The lodge's motto is "No Shoes, No News", and it invites guests to slow down and trade conventional notions of time for the pace of island life. Sustainability and connection are at the heart of how it runs, and the lodge describes itself as rooted in and sustained by the local village community.

Lamu's Swahili culture, shaped by African, Arab, Persian, Indian and Chinese influences, is part of the experience, and Kizingo is a base for exploring the archipelago, its villages, dhow sailing and the UNESCO-listed Lamu Old Town.

Kizingo promotes slow tourism and suits couples, families and travellers looking for a simple, nature-focused beach stay. Availability and booking details are on the Kizingo website.
